How Your Photo Can Become a Watercolor, Acrylic, or Oil Painting

The idea for taking cell phone photos to the next level began with a lovely photo taken by Luke Scarafoni.  I knew that he traveled extensively and recorded his experiences with his cell phone.  As his inventory of special images increased, he found it difficult to revisit his favorite photos - ones he really wanted to live with on his walls.  He sent me five favorites, and I decided on a 6 x 9 inch format.  The travel photos would converge into what could become a wall of memories.  I shared the painted images with Luke, friends, and family and realized that other people would like to have their photos interpreted in paint.

My one-woman exhibition for "Momentos" is scheduled for January 14, 2025.  I chose to design the show around this idea of plein air paintings (worked at the site) and cell phone images, painted in several media.  Below are some selected works from the upcoming exhibition.
