I work across two university worlds, academic writing and research, and as a painter. Though the language emphasis is different, the creative work underlying both outtakes place in a spatial environment that exists in my mind and in my hands. Patterns in statistics and paintings derived from the natural world both engage with color, array, and orientation. Clear communication is important to my creative work. In teaching and guiding the art department, continued creativity enables me to engage with students with an active mind.
